Hello Matadors!

I am Ms. Smith, and welcome to AP Environmental Science or Earth & Space Science. This is my 9th year at Miramonte, and I am excited to teach you about my favorite topic, the earth! I studied Environmental Management and protection and Biology at Cal Poly SLO (Go Mustangs!) and worked as a field biologist and environmental consultant for a few years before teaching. I love bringing real-world experience to my classroom and getting students excited about this planet we call home! I aim to make science fun while helping students develop critical thinking skills and learn the importance of protecting our natural resources.

Outside of school, I like doing anything that involves nature and good food! I spend a lot of time hiking with my dog, Grayson, traveling, and exploring new places with my husband.
