I have been a happy teacher here at Miramonte since 2015 teaching English 2 (sophomores) and English 4 (seniors). My favorite thing about this school is watching my students grow and when you pass by and say hello through the windows!

Before becoming a Mat, I taught English, Leadership, AVID, and led backpacking trips for 13 years at Bret Harte Middle School in Oakland. I am grateful for those tough, fun, and very special years at the start of my career.

Before teaching in Oakland, I was an English major, Black Studies minor, and got my Master's degree in Education at the most beautiful campus there is...UCSB.

And long, long ago, when we typed essays on typewriters and then word processors, and school started at 7:30 in the morning (jealous?), I went to Monte Vista High School.

I love coming to work each day to learn with you, push you to expand your skills, and support you as a unique and whole human being. When I am not working, I am with my three girls at dance. They adore my students and dream of being a teenager like you one day!
